A 36 mile, fully marked, mixed terrain race around the island of Guernsey. The circular route starts in the picturesque town of St Peter Port before leading on to 16 miles of beautifully rugged cliffs. From here it is fairly flat going along the west coast, where you will enjoy the view of the sweeping bays and beaches. At around mile 25 there will be another fully stocked checkpoint and kiosk to replenish you before continuing around the north coast of the island and finally the east coast back to St Peter Port and the finish.
This is an ideal race for those wanting to step up to ultra distance. With the checkpoints further apart than you may be used to when running marathons, this will accustom you to the more self-sufficient way that most ultra races are run.
A challenging night trail race on the beautiful and rugged cliffs of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. This is an ideal race if you are looking to gain experience of night trail running or as a training race for a longer ultra. With a midnight start and around 2300m of ascent, this is a tough race with a tough cutoff. If you think you can run all of Guernsey’s cliffs, twice, and be back by dawn this is for you.
The adventure starts at midnight in an 18th century fort with views down to St Peter Port and the iconic mediaeval Castle Cornet. The route follows the cliff path - which is demanding in the daylight and even more so at night - right to the southwesterly tip of the island where the turnaround point is another fort almost entirely surrounded by the sea.
